Long time no see.... my bad

Hey Everyone,

I know it's been a long time since I last posted and I am terribly sorry. It is very hectic as a single mother of two young boys. My youngest son, Damien-Cael, has just celebrated his 4th birthday. I am so proud of him. My oldest son, Tyler-Dean, has been making huge strides in his Intervention. He wasn't suppose to be going to The Autism Project (TAP) the rest of this year because his funding had run out, but there was a very special person who has donated enough money for Tyler-Dean to attend TAP twice a week until his funding is reinstated again. I would like to thank that nameless person from the bottom of my heart. It has meant so much to me.

I know most of my zips probably don't work anymore due to the fact that I have let the account relapse. That was my fault for not keeping on top of that. So what I am doing now is uploading all the free kits and bits that I have made so that you all can download them again more easily.

I have been in a creative slump so to speak and I'm hoping to get my groove back. I'm going to finish up a couple of kits that I have start.... hopefully soon and get those posted.

Yet Another Beginning

Well Peeps,

It definitely has been a while since I have last posted much of anything. I am finally slowly regainning control of things and they are slowly starting to look up. Ummm gosh, where do I start.... well I am in the process of getting a divorce.... let me tell ya I'm relieved at that. I have also met someone new. He happens to be the most amazing and wonderful person that I have the honor of knowing. He's sweet and caring and funny and can make me smile no matter how down on my luck I feel. He's going to school for BioTech which is a very admirable profession. Okay well before I get carried away on him.....lol....I'll let y'all know I have something in the works for ya and hope to have it up soon.

New Kit and an Announcement

Hey Peeps,

I know it has been a while since I have posted a kit, but guess what I have one for y'all now YAY!!!!.

But before I post it I just wanna tell you all that we had a blast for Halloween. Tyler-Dean went out as a Pirate and Damien-Cael went out as Spiderman. We were only out for about 45 minutes but they got a good haul lol.

Oh and a bit of pride here, my lil boy Tyler-Dean has made it into the newspaper. He was in it for the upcoming Autism Telethon to be held in our town.

Now for updates on Tyler-Dean's Autism. Well Tyler-Dean had a visit from P.O.P.A.R.D (Provincial Outreach Program for Autism and Related Disorders). They are there to help fine tune Tyler's intervention and his integration into school. They said that Tyler was a wonderful delight to observe and that they had a hard time not interferring with what the Educational Assistant was doing. Tyler-Dean is a very stressed out little boy and has an overwhelmingly high level of Anxiety. So now we have to try and keep an eye out for symptoms of a meltdown and try to prevent them before they happen. That will be interesting.

Now for my Announcement!!!! Well, I have thought long and hard about this and well, Tyler-Dean's funding is going to be cut back from $20,000 a year to $6,000 a year and that doesnt' cover barely anything. Right now he gets treatment 4 days a week for about an hour and a half. When it gets cut back they can maybe get him once a week for an hour which is not nearly enough for him to progress....sooo..... From now on anything I sell in my store at Scrapping Whispers will be donated to Tyler's autism intervention. I will even keep updating you all on how much funds have been raised in his honor. I will also be adding a donation button on my side bar. Please DO NOT feel that you have to do it. It is only there if you feel you want to.

Life never stops

Hey Everyone,

Sorry it has been so long since I have last posted. A lot has happened since I last posted. My wonderful boy, Tyler, has started school. He seems to be doing quite well. they now have him in the classroom full time and he is also spending the full morning now with the children. It seems that he actually has made a couple of friends also. I am so excited for him. He even got invited to his first birthday party. Unfortunately he couldn't go because he was having a "bad" day and it wouldn't have been good for the other children if he went. Tyler even had his school pictures taken and they are beautiful. I will have to scan one for you all to see. I'm just so proud of him. He even asks for school on the weekends.

Right now I am making a plan with the aide, the life skills teacher and his classroom teacher to make a presentation to the classroom about Tyler and his Autism. The children know something isn't "right" with Tyler, but they still treat him as an equal which is wonderful. We are going to be there to explain that Tyler is just like them; he loves cars, coloring and movies and he loves to play and sing and loves to play on the computer just like they do, but the difference with Tyler is that he has moments where not everything seems the same for him and he has a "meltdown" and we will be explaining what a meltdown is. We will also warn them about him being impulsive. But we will probably describe it as stubborness because that's how it shows most of the time. It should be great.

Also since then I have celebrated my 6th Anniversary with my wonderful husband, Grae. We also celebrated my youngest son, Damien turning 3 years old. It was fun and I have never seen a child so excited to get clothes for his birthday LoL.

Finally, I have also had a major surgery. I had a hysterectomy. I was in the hospital for 2 days and am still recovering. I am off work now until the middle of November. I am going stir crazy as I have been off work since the 24th of September.

I have been working on a freebie for you all and should have it up soon.

Hey Everyone,

I wasn't going to let this bother me, but today is my birthday and I sure and heck don't feel very happy birthday-ish after a comment that was left on my blog about my music. I feel today I have had a sign on my forehead that says "SNAP AT ME!!! I won't mind" from everyone today especially customers in my store.

Patti - I know it says you won't be back to my blog, but I feel I need to reply. I have the music on my blog because I don't have cd's and I listen to that music when I am scrapping and such. If it gave you such an ear ache, there is the pause button on the player or you can simply turn down your speakers. It's not that hard or complicated and if you were that offended and you aren't coming back you didn't need to leave a comment with capital letters (which means you are yelling at me). I am not offended that you won't be back to my blog.

Hey Everyone,

Yeah I know I've been bad and MIA for quite some time in my books. But things are getting back to normal here....first it was our electricity and then it was my computer. We were renting to own a computer for $160 CAD a month but we decided we couldn't afford that luxury and my Father in law (Bless his heart) is lending us his new never been used (until now) computer. So I had to put all the programs on there and make sure they all worked.....well aparently I didn't transfer them over properly and none of them worked except for my Photoshop....THANK GOD!!! lol.

So today I have a couple of announcements for you as well as a freebie. So here it goes.

Back and Better than Ever

Hey Gang,

Well I am back after a 3 day stint of no electricity. I even have new toys to play with. I will be playing witht them tonight to have something for ya. The poll is still open for a bit so I will work on that kit in a bit.

I also cut off all my hair lol. My hair was down past my shoulders and now it is well.... I cut off over 10.5 inches LoL.

Well it's good to be back and I will have more for y'all later.

Oh yeah I'm also trying to resolve the issue with pop ups and other issues that are popping up with my blog. Please be patient while I find out whats goin on.

Tough Times

Hey Everyone,

I'm just sending this quick note to let you know I am going to be away for a few days....Not by choice though. I told y'all that my Hubby, Grae, lost his job a couple months back and he applied for Employment Insurance.....well they aren't going to tell us anything by the end of this month... Which doesn't help us now. I'm trying to support my family, pay rent, pay the bills and get us food and I only make $600 a month if I am lucky.

I'm sitting here at my Father in laws house writing this because currently my home is without power. Yup that's right my electricity has been disconnected while I was out getting the cheapest back of french fries for the kids.

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to be a Troll or gain pity from anyone because that is the last thing I want. I needed a place to just vent and whine to myself.

Well I better get going my Father in law has kindly let me borrow his computer, time and washing machine and I need to switch the laundry over.

Hope is well with all of you and for those who do read this I will keep you posted on whats happening.... Hopefully I can make another kit if my power comes on soon enough.

New Toys

Hey Everyone,

Well, I went out and bought some new toys to play with LoL.... I had to watch out and behave myself as it is sooo easy to spend too much in so little time when you are looking at scrapbooking supplies. I have made some papers with some of the swirly overlays I bought over at Divine Digital. I have been working on a new kit, but it being summer and all there doesn't seem to be enough time to play.

When making kits I will be working on one and will start getting ideas for the next. I am starting a poll and would love to know which colors you would like to see in my next kit (after the one I am making now)

Well I hope you like these papers they are in 3600x3600 PNG formatt but are easily resized for taggers.... I am still trying to master on how to make a good preview LoL.

Update and Pool Fun Freebie #1

Hey Everyone,

Well, I am just waiting to get Tyler-Dean ready to go to TAP and then it is back to the grindstone for me. I am so tired of cleaning LoL.

Tyler-Dean has been having it rough lately, more meltdowns because of all the changes they are doing at TAP. I guess there is a lot of construction going on and he has 2 newer interventionists. One he has seems to be a bit of a push over and doesn't sound overly forceful with him (which is what he needs) and the other is one he had last year and she makes him work for his privileges.

I was so proud of him the other day. Tyler-Dean isn't potty trained yet. With his Autism he is what is considered under stimulated which means that he has to seek out sensations through force. He runs into walls and doors and windows just to feel the pressure. He also does a lot of head butting. His favorite right now seems to be just flopping on the floor and going limp while you drag him where he needs to be. Totally annoying. Well, when we put him in big boy underwear and he wets/dirties himself he just sits in it, especially if he is involved with the computer or something else of the sort. The other day I couldn't find Tyler-Dean anywhere and I was starting to panic. I noticed the bathroom door open a crack and I was thinking Oh my god what did he get into now. I walked in to check on him and he was sitting on the toilet with a great big smile on his face. I am so proud I want to cry. We are hoping that when we train his brother he might follow in his lil brother's footsteps.

Well onto the freebie. I have pictures of when I took my boys to the water park a few days ago now and I haven't been able to find a pool themed kit anywhere so I could attempt a lay out with their pictures. So I figured I would just go ahead and make one. So here is the first of many freebies the papers. I hope you like them

I had to change my music, because there are so many songs I like I had to go and switch some songs out lol. I added some classics like Music Box Dancer, and Hockey Song by Stompin Tom. But m ost of all I found my all time favotite Hockey Song by Jughead.... Whats a Canadian without a hockey song eh? Yeah, I've been busy. We took the boys to the water park the other day and when it was time to leave you would have thought I was abusing my children the way Damien-Cael was carrying on. Tyler's Intro to Kindergarten and a Freebie

Hey Everyone,

Well Tyler-Dean has his introduction to kindergarten. I sure hope being in school goes better for him than this. He was ready to call it quits not even an hour after we got there. But he did his best.... he couldn't stay focused, he tried cutting his fingers with scissors on purpose, he wouldn't stay still, and was a lot of work to try to keep him from bolting, I was quite proud of him. You're probably thinking why would I be happy about this kind of behavior and that you would have been going bonkers LoL. Yes, I will admitt it was driving me nuts and I was trying very hard to not just take him home because it was too much, but there is a method to my madness.

Tyler-Dean has PDD/NOS (Pervasive Developmental Disorder/Not Otherwise Specified). This September he will be going to kindergarten and they have assigned him and aide to share with another Autistic boy. The Autism Project (TAP), where Tyler-Dean goes regularly, and I are quite upset that he has to share as he is a lot of work for just one person and to have to share would put him at risk of lack of safety.

Now the reason I was happy with his behavior is that it gave the teachers and principal an idea of how much work he is going to be in school. They will constantly have to ask him to pay attention, make sure he doesn't choke (that is his big thing right now) other children, or even just dart off into no where land. (Tyler-Dean still wanders into traffic not knowing how dangerous it can be)

So we were there maybe half an hour and Tyler-Dean put on his coat, ran out the gymnasium door and scream ALL DONE!!!! and we begged, yelled and hollered at him to stop but he refused. I quickly apologized as I ran out the door after him and that was that. So here's hoping it might send a jolt to them and let him know he needs a 1 on 1 aide.

Well now that I am done my blabbering here is your freebie. I left the frames themselves white so you can colorize them if ya wanted. I hope you like my Grunge After Midnight. I called it this because it is well after midnight right now lol. I should have called it Grunged Grapes LoL.

Feel like I am going to cry

Well, you ever have one of those days that nothing seems to go right? Well today was one of those days for me. It started off with my computer acting funny after I installed a bunch of fonts we took off my old computer to install on this one and the computer started acting sooo slow and then it would freeze and then take forever to load everything up. I was so scared that I thought I killed a computer that I haven't even finished paying off.

Then Tyler-Dean tripped on a cord that belongs to my external hard drive. It crashed to the floor and it worked fine, I put it back no problem.

I ended up being late for work due to some kiddies who didn't want mommy to go to work so I stayed behind and did my best to soothe them.

While I was on my break my hubby, Grae, called me and let me know that the external hard drive wasn't working and that when he turns it on it does nothing but making clicking noises. That just about killed me right there and then. I wanted to cry on my break so much. I was working on a mega kit for my new yahoo group and a freebie for the blog. We are going to be giving it to our friend who own My Tech Guys and see if we can restore anything on the hard drive. He said he was going to work on it at home, but he doubts he can do anything. That means all my files are gone.

I had over 20,000 files for PSP including tubes that I bought, scrapkits that I bought, preset shapes, gradients, extras, tags for other people I made, fonts, actions, scripts, kits I can't get back.....everything gone

I wanna cry so much cuz it has been a lot of work gathering it up and in a blink of an eye it disappears... I think I will be burning them to disk after I download them again just in case.

Here is my new kit. I hope you like it. I found these colors and they remind me of my mom's home town. Where we live we have the ocean 10 minutes away, glacier fed lakes about 15 minutes away, mountains, fields, rapids, rivers and so much more. These colors remind me of all of those.

I just went and bought me a new camera. I was so excited and couldn't pass the deal up. It was a $250 and I got it for $90 so I might just post pics here everynow and then that I am proud of. I have one right now that I spliced together as it was three different pictures.... It was taken just outside my apartment on my way to the store.

Awareness Is....

Hey Everyone,

Here are some Awareness Charms I have made up for ya. I have 3 that I hold very close to my heart.

Leukemia (Orange) because my father and my uncle died within a year of each other at a very young age. My father was only 45.

Autism (rainbow puzzle) because my 5 year old son, Tyler-Dean has been diagnosed with this horrible neurological brain disorder. I must add this because it is one of my biggest frustrations with people who don't have close contact with the disorder or completely understand it and swear up and down that it can be cured. It can't be cured! What can happen though with the love and prayers of others and tons of intervention and stregth the person afflicted can learn to cope with it and become high functioning.

Third will be Cervical/Uterine Cancer. Right now I have Uterine Cancer and hoping to have it fixed this summer. Right now I am taking hormone pills to keep it at bay.

So for all of those who have lost someone to a form of cancer or disability, you have my sympathy and my condolences. You are very strong people and together we can find cure.

Hey Everyone,

Now I don't normally like to vent on a blog, but I wanted to voice my opinion about my company. I work for a major grocery store in Canada and it's not one I would recommend, hence the reason I am leaving out the name and major details not that it takes away from my opinion.

I recently told someone that I was thinking of going back to school, (I want to take psychology, always have since I was a kid). Well she asked me if I thought of considering the store a career and I could have died laughing. It was so hard for me to keep a straight face.

This company is so far from being family orientated it's not funny. We are having a barbeque today to celebrate our store finally getting a staff discount and one of my co-workers practically yelled out (she always has had a voice that carries when she is excited about something) that we were not allowed to bring our family....It was for staff and staff alone. What if you are a single mom and wanted to go? Kinda gotta bring your kids don't ya. I thought that was rather rude and didn't even go today. My family is a little more important to me than my job.

I guess it's just the little things that are annoying me about my company. Head Supervisors who are in grocery shopping stop long enough to humiliate the supervisor on shift because it got busy while two cashiers were on break. Like ya can help that, but I wasn't there to begin with... just when she started in on this supervisor....anyways, she should have taken it off the floor and not in front of customers. That is abuse.

Don't even get me started about the childish behavior, rumors, gossip and tears that go on there either.

My company a career? LoL I don't think so.

Feel like a newbie

Hey Everyone,

Well, Yesterday I got Photoshop CS2 and I feel like a newbie all over again LOL. I couldn't even figure out how to flood fill my canvas. I looked for 2 hours before I asked someone for help LOL. I haven't felt this lost in a long time. I mainly use PSP X and that was like second nature to me....so easy to find and use everything. But I noticed with a lot of things PS is better to use. I did a textured paper (after another few hours of trying to play and getting horribly lost) and the texture in PS is so real compared to PSP.

Well it is a new month and I'm still working on a new kit for you. My hubby, Grae, picked out the colors for this kit so I hope you will all like it. So far from the poll everyone seems to like the other embellishments so I am trying to incorporate more of those into this kit. *Missy crosses her fingers*

Well I am off to do more scrapping. I shall talk to you all later. Hopefully will have something by the weekend if not by the end of the weekend for you all.

Play Date....

Hey Everyone,

Today was pretty busy. I got Tyler-Dean ready and off to TAP today. After that I got together with a friend of mine from highschool and her 2 year old daughter and we took the kids to the park to run some steam off. It was great. Damien-Cael loves to play on the slide so much. It's usually the first place he runs to. Maybe next month I will buy a new camera so I can start taking pictures of the kids again. Also, the mountains I see everyday are looking so gorgeous first thing in the morning and I wanna take a picture of them so much, it just doesn't do any good when all you have is a camera phone LoL.

Tonight I also went to the Autism Parents Support Group. There were about 5 of us there and I found it really interesting. Tyler-Dean starts school this coming September and I am so scared for him. I don't know what to expect and I hate the unexpected. I need to know what is going to happen ahead of time and life isn't like that. I hear all these stories about how the school gets a large sum of money to pay for your child's intervention while at school, but it all gets pooled together and then your child may only see part of it because of another child who isn't diagnosed needs more help than your child. That scares me.

Well I made another freebie.....yes I am addicted. I want to learn everything all at once. I know it isn't going to happen but I can dream LoL.

Friendship Is...

Today was an all right day. Tyler-Dean went to TAP (The Autism Project) after being gone for just over a week. He goes 4 mornings a week from 9am - 12pm. Tyler-Dean loves it so much. They have been a god send for our whole family. At TAP they teach Tyler-Dean such things as speech, how to cope with his Autism, cutting, pasting, personal hygiene; recognition of colors, shapes, numbers, letters, people and more. Without them Tyler-Dean never would have called me mom for the first time when he was three and a half. We would probably still be sitting on the floor in the kitchen crying our eyes out together because we don't understand each others needs or have any way to communicate.

Today the weather was pretty decent. Actually it has been for a few days now. It's nice to finally get some weather other than rain or clouds. So I think tomorrow I will take Damien-Cael to the park while Tyler-Dean is at TAP.

Well this next freebie is dedicated to my friend Vicki at Snaggers Annonymous. She has spurred me on to make this kit since she saw the papers I made while fiddling around. Vicki has been more than a great friend and has been there for me when I needed someone. I look forward to our chats every day and she is the first person I go running to when I need to tell someone something. Vicki I hope you know just how much I appreciate you and am thankful that we have met. So I have dedicated this kit to Vicki and have named it Vicki's Kit. So without further ado....here it is.

A New Beginning
